Same. I’ve always been more willing to spend money on amps than guitars.

I think it’s because the point of diminishing returns is so much lower for guitars than amps. I mean, I still love the MIM Strat I bought for $300 28 years ago

I have 4 and each were perfect after a basic setup. And 3 were from GC!

Get a used one if you hafta, you'll thank me later!

Love the pickup covers. Owned a Majesty for about a month. Just didn’t get along with the neck or pickups.
EB is great company and been a DT fan for a long time but the JPs and Majesty’s just aren’t my thing.

There’s been a couple EBMM JP’s popping up locally for decent prices, one Majesty for $2400 and a JP16 (I think? it’s black sparkle). As tempting as they are, I have a Tele and either a JPIIC or a IIC+ on my short GAS list.

Just about everyone's prices have went nuts in the last 5 years. And they are building in Cali, which doesn't come cheap.

True, but EBMM have gone up more than most. American Fenders are also made in Cali.

IIRC Fenders have gone up about 25% since that time while EBMM have gone up 45-50%

And JT, not sure if you have any single coil guitars (although there are HH models, too) - but I can't recommend the Luke 4 SSS model HIGHLY ENOUGH. Especially the unpainted neck, you would yourself, but in a good way!

Yeah, Fender has a whole different business model and mass produces, big time. EBMM isn't making even a fraction of what Fender does, but I can guarantee EBMM is putting a helluva lot more work into each guitar.

Whatever the reason, EBMM have crossed the line into “nice guitars, not worth the price” for me. There are plenty of guitars I like better that cost a fraction of what EBMM now sell for

Though I do sometimes miss the St Vincent
