There is an interesting conversation on the FB
So don’t shoot me as it is her say however there a pictures posted
One guy had issues w noise touchscreen etc etc he sent it to NDSP and they had it a month , it came back and still had issues
He sent it back and they / dealer just gave him a new one
He is claiming that the new one made in 2024 is different than the OG , he had them both apart and he says the boards are different layout is different and parts moved and he has no noise now
He is saying he believes that they changed things even chassis is thicker and heavier
Is it possible a lot of issues were coming from the board and they quietly just rebuilt that ?
Maybe that’s part of the ongoing delays

They have had delays at every possible point in this product lifespan that I think it's more than one issue causing them

I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually had a different board made. Whatever "the board" is, anyway. When the units were getting the Blue Lights Of Death and/or tractor noises, tech support would state they "replaced the board"

At the amount of them they had to repair, some users more than once or even twice, it seems a bit daft to just see if the problem sorts itself out instead of doing something about it before you're just handing out your inventory of future units.

Yes, which likely would mean redesigning the board as there's no guarantee the codec chip has the same pinout etc.

Yeah if they had to redesign the board, it would make sense to fix those kind of things in the process if it's known how to do.

It's pretty normal for many companies to adapt to e.g parts availability or do revisions with fixes. Often times they mean nothing to the end user but might solve some edge case issue.

Somebody would have to take apart a brand new QC to see if there's any difference.

I plan to watch it, but I love the question “are guitar amps obsolete” in an age where all of our modelers are literally emulating guitar amps and in the case of captures - a guitar amp is necessary for the entire process from the get go. Sensationalist headline imo

I think that's a bit too literal to the extreme. While digital devices are modeling tube amps, and at least a few people need amps to model and capture for the rest of us, there are way more than enough amps in existence for that. Do we need to keep building more? How many examples to we need to preserve?

I think we are getting pretty close to the point where a new guitarist today may have no reason to ever play a tube amp in their lifetime. It sucks from the perspective of a nostalgic old analog guy, but I totally get it.
