Not only is this release another expression of disrespect towards QC owners, it also makes no sense whatsoever in an already completely saturated plugin market. How many vocal suites are there already, and most of them at a better price?
That's the "doesn't make any sense" angle. The "makes sense" angle is, it's an opportunity to pull in some cash. Throw a couple of new algorithms together, combine them with some existing EQs, etc., and market it at the NDSP faithful. Some percentage will pull the trigger at full tilt, others will wait for a sale. It's all revenue.

I think the product looks really cool and makes sense. It's good for them to branch out IMO and it looks easy to use and well thought out.

But that's exactly what confuses me. I just can't imagine that many buyers will be interested in such a plugin, especially at that hefty price. There are already countless similar products, and the majority of Neural fanboys are instrumentalists.

I don’t think the idea itself is bad, but there are so many of these “all in one” vocal plugins and often from companies with a reputation of doing stuff outside of amp sims. A bit pointless IMO, even though it could well be pretty good.

What are the other suites that are high quality and lower price? I don't mix vocals so haven't looked, but UAD Topline is $399 (before sales) and Izotope Nectar is $199. The $169 price seems in line with the competition.

Call me a fanboy if you want, but I do trust the NDSP plugins to be pretty good quality.

I'll just sit back and let this one play itself out. :)

Either way, for NDSP, it's a new revenue stream.

I don't care enough to argue over it. I personally think it's interesting but again I haven't mixed a vocal in forever. I'd probably download a trial to compare against UAD.

IMO if NDSP can get more revenue from plugins that probably helps long-term the success of the QC and NQ. They aren't a subscription based company so they do need some revenue to fund expenses that include development or even support of the QC.

@Jarick iZotope Nectar, Sonible prime:vocal, Waves CLA, SSL Vocalstrip... and there are many more.

Also my DAW (Cubase) already has a complete vocal chain plugin. For "free" (not applicable to you cheap Reaper fanboys, though).

one of those guys is ex Arturia and worked on a lot of their plugins, which are fantastic.

EDIT: if you take into account where their staff’s background is maybe we should expect them to branch out into less guitar focussed products. Also I really couldn’t give a fuck about the QC or any complaints about it. I wasn’t interested enough to buy one, so I’m definitely not going to lose sleep over it now. And for the most part that’s true for any modeller - none of them are so indispensable to me that I’d get cultish and weird about them. Others needs are different but i’m happy not to have to sweat over that.
