NDSP Quad Cortex

I just think that would be an easy money flow for them - a device that makes people buy plugins, and the plugins that make people buy the device.
That would make sense if they were able to make hardware that can run the plugins but the QC can't even do that completely, so, no. It's pretty clear that getting the plugins on dedicated DSP hardware is not trivial at all and its taken years to get the QC into its current half baked state.

Unless QC gets a major update to run those “PCOM soon” plugins as well. Maybe that new thing will run plugins just like a PC does, in a less flexible chain format. While QC breaks those down into separate components for a more flexible chain.

I'd love to be proven wrong, but you sound naively optimistic to me.

Dual cortex makes the most sense. QC is 5-6 years old now. They got a fresh wave of sales from the nano doing the barebones thing. A dual cortex will be a solid cheaper offering for the same current gen platform.

Having it do plugins only or xyz only just seems weird, if it’s the dual cortex it’ll be the fm3 or helix stomp for ndsp

But looking at that teaser does it not seem odd to have 4 encoders only in the corners ?
Unless there are more just hidden
And the screen is a separate piece maybe they are showing edited views right now it looks like a MIDI controller morning star etcc

I dunno, a fm3 has 3 footswitches. They could make it work with just 4 and using long press and double tap options.

These units are always a slimmed down experience compared to the flagships so as long as things are accessible in some fashion people will accept the workflow trade off.

I’d rather a device this size with a touch screen and 4 encoders over a nano cortex for gigging or desktop.

Honestly, the lack of major fanfare does make me think it might be a lower hardware device than we are thinking.

I don't see them going from short films to a traditional teaser similar to a plugin for hardware.
