NDSP Quad Cortex

Which one of you Drew's are getting scolded on the discord 😂

@Orvillain @DrewJD82

FWIW, I still have extra steps before I can even post and I have zero intention of ever taking those steps.

I’m plenty entertained without needing to say a word!

For the life of me, I can’t understand what those mods get out of being mods for NDSP. Moderating sucks, I wouldn’t do it here if I weren’t a co-owner, but I DEFINITELY wouldn’t be doing it if the company I were doing it for put me in the firing line every month, never mind going to bat for them any time the issues are called out.

Also, pretty funny swoop in there, @Mongillo19 :rofl

I see why they rep NDSP

I think we probably hit Post reply at the same time. :rofl

Wasnt even trying to stir anything up. I was just tired of seeing Aaron and crew gaslight people who have been banned from Unity by Waterbound.

Aaron then goes on to try and say the guy asking why he was banned at Unity was a problem over there.

It's only fair to know the truth about Waterbound. I made sure to clearly state his online persona and not his actual personality too.

“Ready to find your perfect tone? We're here to help!”

Sigh. They are a software company that overreached on hardware (but will continue to make money until a Stadium falls on it).
I think this is a bit of an oversimplification. For starters, the hardware itself is awesome.

If anything, it's weird that a successful software company can't put software on their own damned hardware.

100% - the QC pushed the industry forward imo in terms of quality of life features, and it’s not a clear win imo between the helix and QC aside from UI.

You do have a point there. Maybe design/purpose was there, just execution has been shitty.

What NDSP probably has learned by now (assuming at least a canine level of self awareness which might be a stretch) is that writing software for a PC with an operating system already provided is not the same as writing software for a dedicated hardware device.

I read that QC runs on UNIX, I may be wrong. If so, the OS is there 🤷‍♀️ (whatever flavor it is, whatever that looks like)

Doubt that’s much more than the UI. I am sure the actual modeling is done more directly on the DSP. If it was all at the software layer, it would be way less efficient, but OTOH, it would have been a breeze to port over the plugins. The struggle with plugins is a sure sign to me that they are writing for the DSP.
