Finally, the Stadium Floor is larger than the QC but still smaller than FM9. And I'm moving back into a slightly bigger space in the fall so this could be fine for number 4.

XL is size of FM9, smaller one is about the size of FM3 + expression pedal

I very much enjoy my QC even though it's currently collecting dust (the real amps are getting used these days). There are only a few things now that really keep me in QC land:

1. PCOM. I have a ton of their plugins and like them enough that having them on the unit is great, and will get better.

2. Ease of use. It's pretty damn simple to navigate and edit from the unit. I do find that preferable to editing on the computer, especially because my computer is in a different room than my rig.

3. Cortex Cloud. It's just fun to grab a preset or capture at any time the idea strikes me. I'm often watching a video at work or away from home and think it's a cool tone and then just grab it on the spot. And it's on my QC when I fire it up. I just find that so much fun.

4. Form factor. I love the size of the QC. I get the complaints about the foot switches being a bit too close but it's fine for me at home.

That's about it really. Those things have me satisfied with it even over the Fractal. And I do love me some Fractal.

But this Stadium has me intrigued now. I suppose I could Proxy the plugin amps, which somewhat takes care of number 1.

The Stadium looks as easy to use if not even more so which should negate number 2.

It sounds like L6 is looking at some kind of easy to access eco system with all the WiFi, Bluetooth, etc. capabilities. That's still TBD of course but I think but maybe number 3 might be addressed as well. If not, it might be a worthy sacrifice for the Stadium's other features.

From an outside perspective, the further development of the Quad Cortex appears to have come to an almost complete standstill. And there hasn't been a new plugin for ages, only X updates, the last of which was almost half a year ago.
You could almost think that Neural DSP is on the verge of closing down. And yet something recently caught my attention. In one of his Sunday videos, Henning Pauly reported that Neural has just taken over the former TC Electronic team (booted out by B3hring3r) and opened a second company headquarter in Denmark. Well, one can only hope that this move will bring a little movement into the seemingly deadlocked situation.

Well, my QC (second one I own) has now gone up for sale. It's been fun for a while but I've no confidence NDSP will be able to deliver, this century, what they set out to.

I'd expect the TC team to work on something new rather than get thrown into QC development.

Despite enthusiasts grumbling, the QC is the top selling guitar product at Thomann, and Nano Cortex is #8 in the "guitar and bass fx" category. So it seems the products are selling well. Therefore the lack of fw updates is not a major issue for the company atm as the money keeps coming in.

I do think they would want to pivot to offering more QC features after the next batch of plugin ports just to keep users happy.

Public financials for 2024 should be out in a few months so we might be able to have some idea about how they are doing.

Yknow, when I sold my Axe3.... I bought another one about 6 weeks later. I missed it that much.

When I sold my 1st Helix, I bought another one weeks later as well.

I'm pretty good at knowing when I've fucked up by selling a thing, and I can categorically say, I don't think I'll ever buy another Quad Cortex. The 2nd time round my impression of it was better, but ultimately, there's so much wrong with it as a device. All of my criticism throughout the thread is well founded and logical, and holds up to scrutiny.

Kinda crazy this is even a discussion…..again. I really thought after they got PCOM happening that was it, they’d tackled the biggest issue and it would be smooth sailing from there on out.

That’s why I bought it in the first place lol 4 plugins were released and it seemed like they had some steam. Then crickets and Himalayas

In typical NDSP fashion, their announcement of tackling it - so to speak - confirmed that they're actually doing it in bespoke batches that require a bespoke firmware update to make it work on the QC. It's just breathtakingly dumb.

I’d be inclined to say that’s quite a big deal, Aarhus is where TC were based until Uli shut things down, must be a massive pool of talent and university etc in that area. Will be pretty interesting to see what that turns into, and honestly it’s great to see guys being able to continue working in audio and products they’re probably excited about.

Hard to blame them. If someone already owns one, I can see them deciding to stick with it. But I wouldn't put money into one now on a bet. They might as well have a Mr. Yuck sticker on the box in terms of new sales to anyone who has followed their story.
