I ran into zero issues running it 4cm, without use of a noisegate (don’t use those), gains up to “appropriate for rock”.

Sometimes “appropriate for rock” is a contradiction in terms.

I agree, but you can always make comparisons “all else being equal”, and here I suspect the QC is a bit noisier. I think this is an inevitable consequence of miniaturization/ small footprint.

My buddy didn´t notice any kind of noise (and he´s obsessed with noise). That said, he didn´t use the QC in 4cm mode.

I think it´s not the best unit for 4cm. But actually... I don´t like any digital unit for 4cm use. Too much AD/DA stages with their latency and whatnot.
