First off I know this is a drum thread and I've posted it to the Guitars sub-forum so if the folks in charge want to move it to the appropriate sub-forum after creating one, please feel free
When I was a younger adult, living with my parents rent-free with a good-paying job and disposable income, I slowly built out a drum kit, starting with shells (Pearl ELX), adding hardware (Pearl) and cymbals (Zildjian K hats, Ping Ride, Projection Crash, 20" Crash) piece-at-a-time.
Time went on and I eventually had more bills to pay, so sold the drums to my dad to cover those expenses. He used it as his garage kit and when we eventually formed a band together we had drummers come use it, but it mainly sat there in the garage and my kids would come out and bang on it when we'd visit.
Fast forward to a few months ago, he tells me that he doesn't want them anymore, and either wants to give them to me or sell them, so of course I was happy to get my 20 year old drumset back!
On to the pictures.
Not pictured in the current setup are the 22" Ping ride, Projection Crash, 10" rack Tom, snare, and most of the hardware. I've grown into liking the two-Tom setup and the snare needs a new head so I'm using the smaller snare from my Pearl Roadshow kit. The hardware is pretty oxidized so that's all in the garage getting the WD-40 aluminum foil treatment. The crash/rack tom stand is all I've done so far and the rest of the kit's hardware are pieces I already have: Sunlite hat stand, Tama boom stand, Iron Cobra kick pedal.
Coming from playing the little Roadshow kit for the past few years, this bass drum THOMPS. I am completely not used to doing doubles and will have to relearn a bigger bass drum. The massive sound is so cool I don't want to go back to the little kit, so now my family will have to suffer through much more sheer volume.
