Gig was meh, cab did well.
The first band, The Louie Louie's, reminded me of Rush but with a punk tinge, who had been playing together since the 70s, was playing when I posted this thread. Weird songs, cool energy, I dug.
The second band was Fault Supply, typical modern trust fund kids with more pedal taps than notes and extra instruments on stage that they didn't even use. Those kids filled the house with young college-age kids, whispered into the mic half the time and ended with a cover of that fucking Vanessa Carlton song. Instead of breaking down their shit they smoozed with their adoring fans so I tossed the Pisscab up onto the middle of the stage and they soon got the picture.
Of course the sound engineer put the mic on the piss speaker
The kids from Fault Supply packed up and left, took their bar full of college kids with them, and emptied the place out for me to walk around the venue with my guitar, utilizing my Lekato WS-50 wireless for our line check to find out how things sounded. A little high pass and high shelf from the HX Stomp's global EQ put things in the right place for this cab and we were off to the races.
At one point, our keyboard player, Jeff and I switched spots. I jumped over the monitor, he dragged his keyboard across in front of the drums next to the bassist. We go a little ham, jumping around and making a mess of the stage and put on a show. I guess he ended up yanking a bunch of XLR cables out of a snake on the wall and the engineer came down and berated him toward the end of that specific song. It was kind of funny!
4th band was Gen 11. The singer played a double neck Carvin with a stereo amp setup, it was pretty epic, and their lead guitarist scooped up this nice 3rd Power amp that was for sale local around here for a while and brought it to the gig.
So, back at home this morning I had a chance to literally play both this Fender cab and my Peavey 212-6 back to back
They're really fun to blend but I don't like the speakers in the Fender cab by itself without some EQ which is easy enough to do, and less time consuming or expensive as hunting for and purchasing the right speakers.
