NAM input gain for Valeton

I'm using Valeton GP200 and trying to load NAM profiles from slamminmofo om Tone3000. The input signal is specified at +12.4dBu.

The tone sounds a bit weak. Is there anything I need to do with input gain?

How do I measure and calibrate the input signal to match +12.4dBu?

After conversion - nobody knows I guess - after conversion is not really NAM anymore. I wish there was more explanation on what exactly happens and if it supports captures with meta-data - that would be nice.
