This is all correct but there are other big differences from a 2203. First, the extra 12AX7 and switchable extra gain stage. The GH/VH can very easily surpass the amount of gain a 2203 can put out.
Oh for sure - I just meant the “base” tone’s starting point is very much 2203 inspired. IMO the amp sounds best with the extra gain stage kicked in. I also agree on the low input being really nice sounding and offering nice tones.

I was using the amp with a klon today without the extra gain stage engaged, and it did a really nice job of simulating that first gain stage, but with a bit more upper mid spike.

Too much cleans and not ideal audio but this thing sounds great

really curious to try these, especially after learning Killswitch used them. Heard a few friends rate them (The Ironheart, not TI100) too. They seem to come up used at good prices, although the 60W is most common.

Seems like the build quality is really cheap though, so I don’t really fancy spending a great deal on one

These are limited editions and the one on Reverb right now is $8,500 :wat:rofl

Oh it’s the Iommi one. Swear even the vintage laneys don’t go for TOO much (relatively speaking). Laney are sort of like Peavey, I don’t think I could even really bring myself to spend £1000 on one, let alone way more…

Yep. The vid above seemed wayyyyyyy gainier than the GH I had. I am not sure where the crossover is between the GH, this TH and an IRT.

IRT doesn’t seem to have much in common at all with the GH/VH circuits. Need to see if I can find a TI schematic.

There’s an IRT120 going for £200 OBO over here….

Great amp. Let me know if you start a Sabbath tribute band, I will definitely come out for a show.
