My Son Made Me A Pick Yesterday.

I’ve never seen one working in the flesh before and found it fascinating .
He’s going to make me a load more but 0.88mm.
Also going to make me some adjustable nuts and a pick guard

Is the lettering raised up for some extra grip?

Yes it is raised and does help with grip but it wasn’t done like that on purpose .
The next ones will be 0.88mm and have DLM on them in raised letters

Based on what I’ve seen of 3D printed items, I would think the ridges and texture would be problematic for a pick.

The depends on what you use for filament and what you do post printing. Some can be sanded and some can be smoothed with solvents.

I would think longevity would be pretty bad, but I guess some people go through a lot of plastic picks anyway.

You should be able to see this pick has perfectly rounded smooth edges.
It came out of the printer needing nothing doing to it.
I have got some other printed picks that I was given free with some 3D printed pedals I bought a while back which are a rougher finish.
They are in my big pick sweet jar with hundreds of others ,I’ll try and find those and take a picture to show the difference in a bit.

They are nice to grip though.
