When my Maz Jr was blowing fuses it was the rectifier tube (a sweet old Mullard GZ34)...do you have a spare to swap in?

Thanks everybody for your input…

No he didnt change tubes in it. To be honest i dont know what he done, when I got it back it was working fine.

No, I dont have spare tube, I swap fuse amd its ok now.

I had quick look inside and i saw different brand tubes in it.

Im gonna stop using this amp for now till I can swap all tubes in it.

Also, want to send it to mesa specialist to sort my FX loop issue with big foot switch.

More pain in the ass…

Sigh

If you have a bunch of amps or a spare tube collection, it costs nothing but time to test. If not, can you borrow tubes from a friends amp? If it is not the tubes, that's when things can get expensive fast with a Mesa.

That's pretty much a necessary mod for the Mesa Dual Rec non-multiwatt. It's basically moving one wire and is reversible.
It’s not necessary per se but it is an improvement. I gigged with a 3 channel triple rec and before i did the FX loop mod it still sounded great, I just kept the mix knob at 100% and it was close to being a serial loop.

@megametal7 one other solution is to always have the loop on. I always have my FX processor engaged with all of my amps. For clean sounds I almost always have a compressor, delay, & reverb going. For heavier sounds at least there is always a gate present. Since I use multi-fx boxes, the amp is more of one device in a system for me, but that’s how I’ve always operated. I would never turn an FX loop off. So someone like me would actually never run into the loop problem you’re having.

Not yet… I swapped fuse and its working…. But I need to send it to Mesa tech…. Bench fee is £100 + whatever it needs….

I cant do it now as my finances are tied up.

Sad times….
