There is nothing extraordinary about the original video. Bog standard capable good, most of my customers are pro in various degrees from 5 gigs a week to people you will know.
 
Not as clean. Less harmonic complexity but more traditional. Still excellent but Joscho has better technique IMO. I agree that they are the most popular. It is difficult to compare between opposing ends of approach to a style that is essentially trying to copy one person. I guess I prefer when people try to not just second guess what Django would have done.

I disagree but I know why you say it. It’s a bit like the why do people rate Jimmy Page beyond his songwriting abilities? Big can of worms.

I think it comes down to whether you want clean and perfect or a bit of slop combined with moments of greatness. I kind of want super clean and moments of greatness 🤣.

I completely agreed with the not second guessing Django, that’s where we go back to originating.

As for slop, i care about picket, intent, vibe and all of them bring that harder than Joscho.
But what’s funny that we are actually discussing the details of why we each prefer guys way above the guy whom this thread is about. Lol
