Morningstar MC6 Pro tease

I pulled that turd out of the pile again the other night to give another go at programming it. JFC what an aptly named brand :wat :cuss
On the other hand... everything Morningstar does costs twice what I want to spend, and I don't know about you, but I don't exactly wake up in cold sweats at night wishing my footswitches had more CPU power.

How about just building a couple more MC8's so the used prices get, oh I don't know... how about lower than the new prices for starters?

Noice... will plan for the MC8/10 to drop within the next year. Might be a nice upgrade to my 8 which is already awesome.
Are there actually plans for an MC-10? As far as I can tell there never was an MC-10 in the last generation of products.

If you press the bottom two middle buttons together on the mc8 you get a second page of buttons per preset. So it's kinda an MC16 on its own. Plus you can long/short press each button, for 32 options per preset. It's seriously amazing, though I did stump myself one night trying to figure out why my long press wasn't working for tap tempo. A massive duuuh moment lol!

Not AFAIK, I was just projecting that there would be a 'more than 6' follow on. I use an MC8 for my Syn rig but have 4 external switches and an exp pedal connected. Would like one unit that had 10-12 with similar spacing to those on the 8, TBH.

I am a pretty hardcore MIDI person so do a bunch of weird stuff with the shifted buttons, etc. Which is great and all... SO I take advantage of what @Desertdweller mentions...

But, when it comes down to it: buttons is buttons.

And I generally want a good number in a nice compact form factor. I am going to go for the mostest even though I can program a foot controller. I could probably get two 6's if they never do one with an acceptable number of buttons and I decide to upgrade. Kinda like the Airstep combo (2 5 button switches) I have for the FM3.

Huh, I think that's new? (And really odd). I haven't ever read of anyone having anything other than positive CS experience with them - I wouldn't flinch b/c of this, personally.

I mean, the out of stock issue...
PP Credit atm or GTFO, unfortunately. They emailed me about something still being in my cart and got the click through only to tell me it was out of stock again :cuss:hmm

I don’t know your story with Disaster Area, but I threw my MIDI Baby 3 in the trash because it was such a bug-filled useless piece of garbage.

I’ll never touch another product from that company

So I got one of these recently, and just put it on a board. I'm quite impressed. I had the original MC6 at one point, but I didn't really like the screen. So the three screens for the MC6 Pro seemed really interesting to me.

All I've really done with it right now is setup the three bottom switches to change the channels on my Mark V, using the first relay output. I've customized the colour strips for them too, and put them in a toggle group, so that when I activate one of the bottom three switches, the other two have their strips go black so they look disabled, and the one I pressed goes either green, orange, or red, depending on which channel I select.

I've setup the bank so that on bank entry, it activates midi clock. Then I've got an external FS-5U switch connected to one of the omniports, and this sets the internal clock speed, which goes out via midi but also out via another omniport, which means I can sync the tempo of my Meris LVX and Boss DD-8. Eventually I'd be curious about getting the Boss DD-200 to replace the DD-8, but for now it works fine.

I've got three switches across the top of the MC6 Pro, that I'm thinking could activate three "scenes" on the board... so that's the next stage.
