Use is better for electrolytic - voltage “heals” any breakdown in the insulator layer via fresh oxide formation. It’s a voltage driven process, not current, so no need to crank to get the healing effect.

Is the Blue Angel a dual rectifier? Or am I thinking of the Heartbreaker?

Remember that the dual rectifier used to be just switchable diode/tube rectifier so it was in a lot of amps that otherwise bear no resemblance to the Dual Rectifier amp.

I played one over 20 years ago, for at least 2 hrs at a jam session. I remember it being a fun experience, but it wasn't the 4x10 version. Sorry, that's all I got.
