Marshall is dead, isn’t it?

I’ve been watching JVM availability here in the US. Sweetwater said the 410 would be in January. This is after not having it in stock for a year. Then it was February. Now it’s June.

The 2203 has been similarly slipping delivery dates. Currently April. Same with 412 cabs. 1987x. 1959. The list goes on.

What is going on here?

No they just aren’t that responsive to small orders. They run a product schedule and you buy from that. Some companies are way worse, running only a small amount of the catalog at any one time and not making anything without a book full of orders for it.
It will be down to the distributor in the US being incompetent.

I’ve been watching as well (2203x) and it just keeps slipping. It’s ridiculous.

FYI - I heard through the grapevine that 2203x and 1959HW are going up in price by $500 March 1st. So may want to preorder now to lock in price.

Thomann says "availability at short notice (2-5 days)" for the JVM410 here in Europe. So nothing out of the ordinary on this side of the pond.
With the ownership change the U.S. distributorship that Zounds had set up (with cheaper prices too) probably is out the window.

Used prices are reflecting it as well. I was looking at 1987x’s and the few I can find are priced well above new list prices.

Yup. It's true.

I missed a 2000 1987X on Reverb a couple of weeks ago listed at $1250---from a
reputable seller, and in great condition. By the time I saw it and added it to the
Cart is said "Unavailable."

I cried. :(

:rofl

Yep. And they're far from the only thing that's dead in the music world. It's all slowly crumbling, brick by brick.

Marshall-wise, thankfully we have available (and affordable) alternatives like Weber & Ceriatone.

And there's always the soldering iron + kit method.

Back in 2003 I grabbed a used JTM45RI off of the Plexi Palace forum for $600 with the intention of turning it into a real '66 JTM45 circuit using my soldering iron, some cash for parts & Lord Valve's online instructions. Now, after a few decades, it's exactly how I want it: '68 50W Plexi circuit (w/ tube rectifier).

Even better, if something needs repair or replacing, I can do it myself.

My Marshall needs are met and I'm not at the mercy of ri-fucking-diculous pricing, lack of inventory or some "repair" shop.

If I wanted another (say, 2203), I'd call up Ceriatone and order one of their kits.
