Mark V head for $1500. Good deal?

My current settings fat/edge/mkIV

(Presence matching on all 3 channels specifically for my looping shenanigans. Need everything in the power section to be identical to keep my Loops sounding the same across all channels  )

I'm not even sweating loop issues because it's staying home (unless I start my post-dadcore band anytime soon) :bag

These are my settings. Ch 1, not so much but 2 and 3  I'll give a flip flop approach (mids on channels up more, EQ down) and see how that flies \m/

Quick knob twist with mid slider OFF with mids cranked on channels and I LIKE it! This particular Mark is soooooo much easier to like than the same general family of amp equivalents that were ~2x it's price :LOL:

The one sound I don't currently have that I kinda want again is the Extreme sound. I have Marks, I have rectos, but I don't have any that switch the negative feedback off like the modern channel of a rectifier. That's a cool mode.
Which recto do you have that doesn’t have the modern mode?

Day 3 of playing this thing. This is a much better experience than the JP and VII. It feels a LOT more consistent and I don't feel hot and cold like I did with either of those. The JP especially was great one day then a noisy, scratchy, screechy mess the next. The VII was good on a per channel basis but trying to work across all the 3 channels was still very inconsistent. This amp has been crushing each day I've fired it up.

What speakers besides V30s for this? EVs? I can see something a little smoother in the top end being really good with this \m/

C90 in a closed back cab :sofa

The (discontinued) closed back 1x12s woth the c90 they specifically designed to go with this amp really are a perfect match

EVM thiele is cool too, but I feel like that works bwtter with the older Marks

I had the ElectraDyne combo for a hot minute and when it worked for 15 minutes; it sounded punchy AF. I believe it had a C90 in it as well? I remember preparing to not like it because not a V30 and was pleasantly surprised till the reverb and channel controls started going dumb.

Hmmm.
