Also, Mark IV mode is best

Dude, you play trumpet out of a Flying V. You can handle a Mark V.
I wonder if crunch is similar to the crunch mode on the Badlander? I think the mode layout makes much more sense in the context of a 3 channel amp vs putting 3 modes you want to switch between on a single channel![]()

Crunch mode with a SD-1 or Tube Screamer is pretty damn amazing though. Just get it.![]()

Would you be able to tell the difference aside from variances youāll find in a tube amp anyway?I love my actual IVā¦. But mk IV mode is waaaaay more practically usable on the V![]()

Interesting.I mean to be completely honest⦠an actual Mark IV at itās sweet spot is definitely different than Mk V on mk IV mode
Mark V is much more compressed andāmanageableā
I donāt consider that a bad thing tho
They've always been high. I can't ever recall seeing a great deal on one.EDIT: JFC Nevermind. Studio Preamps are running $1400+ right now, which is absurd.
I just looked on Reverb and it is DUMBIād have a hard time passing on a V for $1500 if it was in good shape. If you still have the Fryette LXII you might poke around for a Mesa Studio Preamp. Less complicated, does a pretty convincing IIC thing with a good power amp. Definitely a balancing act with the clean & lead though.
