Damn, I love it when I hear some music and it makes me think "How in the hell can you even write that?", especially when it sounds like it's improvised chaos but is actually quite calculated and worked out.
I think because so much of my own writing is improvised then finding the good nuggets after the fact, I'm generally doing that with 1 instrument in a linear fashion, like I'll just improvise and record it on 1 track. I'm trying to figure out the logistics of writing utilizing various loops; I'd have to remember what each loop was so I could play it again, while keeping the headspace open for what's to come next. Like when I'm writing I'll hear the whole song in my head at once, all the instruments, so I wonder if they're doing something similar but instead of various instruments they're hearing various loops?
I'd love to pick the brain of someone who writes like this.

The dreaming up part is easy, it's the "having balls to do it, stick with it and pull it off" that is difficult.Yeah and figures they are from my neck of the woods in Quebec lol
