Looks vs weight

I'm looking at two Japanese Les Pauls of the same model with identical specs, even the colour is the same. One weighs bang on 9lbs and the other is 9lbs 11 but the heavier guitar has nicer woodgrain and generally looks a bit prettier. Which one would you buy?

Before anyone asks I'm not going to post pics of either guitar until I've bought one and it's been shipped.

I have a strong preference for lighter bodies, particularly if there’s a fairly chunky neck profile too - it impacts the way a Les Paul style guitar balances on the body.

I’d go for the guitar I suspect most conforms to my playing preferences.

Won't matter much if you're a sitter. You can mitigate "weight risk" with choice of straps tho

Looks are fairly important to me, and I feel like 11oz wouldn’t tip the scale (for me)

Both are still under 10lbs, I’d go with the better looking one

I kinda dig the feeling of a heavy Les Paul when standing up after years of playing Ibanez, so I’d definitely go with the heavier one.

I'll be gigging and rehearsing with this guitar. Gigging won't be all the time but I'll be playing with the other dudes every week.

Fair point. In that case I would probably go with looks at long as it was not unusual in weight , either heavy or light.
