Looking for something unique

I currently use a Fernandes BXB-75 bass, built for the Japanese market in the late 80s. I love it. It’s not the best playing bass Ive ever owned, but it’s light, comfortable and unique enough to be a “signature bass” for me.

Problem is, it’s old, getting worn out and replacements aren’t easy to come by.

So, Ive been going down the rabbit hole looking for something more modern and easier to maintain that also ticks the boxes above.

Bought a Jackson Kelly bass, but the neck has a slight twist and they’re also not easy to come by. Makes a good backup bass, but not one I would depend on.

Tried out an Iceman, but the balance is so bad it wore me out just holding the neck up and keeping the body from pitching forward.

Had a Warlock but it’s definitely not light, or comfortable to play.

Don’t want a strat/tele/LP/kelly bird body. Anyone have any suggestions?

Might be hard to find, so not real helpful, but the Carvin V440 is pretty unique, and sort of similar to your Fernandes.

I have a Solar canibalismo and it’s awesome. But weighs almost as much as my amp, so not a lot of fun to jump around on stage with for an hour.
