I spent 4 days sweating and bleeding over this. Give it a listen!

I've tried to be as authentic as I can. The model can sound like a bunch of different styles, depending on the parameters.

This is what can be changed:

  • Delay time (ms)
  • Mix and Feedback
  • Chip count
  • Stage count (each chip)
  • Input sample+hold
  • Bit-depth (additional crunchy stage, optional)
  • Feedback tone - lowpass, highpass, and two peak bands
  • Compander - on/off, threshold, ratio, knee, time
  • Input, feedback, output saturation types - none, hard, soft, asym, sym, tube, tape, exponential, and cubic curves.
  • Noise level
  • Clock whine level
  • BBD Droop (level loss with longer times)
  • Transient softener in the feedback path
  • Micro blur effect in the feedback path
  • Pre/De-emphasis on/off (shelving tilt)
  • Chip voicing (MN3005, MN3205, MN3007, MN3207, SAD1024, R5106)
  • wow rate and depth
  • flutter rate and depth
  • clock jitter

Sounds nice! I am not enough of a BBD aficionado to evaluate it though.

Seems like the sounds and tweakability are there, and now you'd need to condense it down to something that makes sense to the user so it's not too simple and not too complicated. That's a hard balance to strike for sure.

Under the hood, shit tons of parameters. On the UI, very few. That's what I'm thinking.

Also I will probably experiment with putting this into my DaisySeed at some point.

I love it. I could see using this for sure. Having all those parameters is a good thing imo. You could have a stripped down mode but keep an expert mode/tab available for those that want to really dive in.
Awesome work so far. :beer

I've exposed a bunch more features. Can explain later, but should be fairly self explanatory. Definitely wouldn't want ALL of this on screen at once.

Holy crap did you program that? That's insane!

It sounds amazing, everything you'd want in a BBD. Probably way more stuff than I'd ever look at but better to have extra options in a plugin than not. I think if after testing you map multiple parameters to a single input control that may be a good option.

Only thing I'd put on a wish list is stereo functionality. Especially having the tempo of the second delay tied to the first as a ratio of time (that also allows for a minimal offset for stereo width).
