Listen to my BBD delay!!!

Sounds nice!
Question (even if it's not directly related to the BBD style): Would it be possibly to have an envelope shaper for the input? That's something I *so* wish to see in whatever delay. I just want to shave those pesky delay peaks off as good as possible.

I have a softener circuit in the feedback path already, which softens the peaks for the delay, and because it is in the feedback path, it works progressively and cumulatively. Adding a more traditional envelope shaper option is definitely a possibility.

@Orvillain The hardware possibility is nice, but could / would you also make this available as Audio Units?
Yeah, VST3 and AU is easy peasy. AAX is a bit trickier, and costs money.

Very cool!

What does chip voicing do?
Switches the chip profile between these:
  • MN3005
  • MN3205
  • MN3007
  • MN3207
  • SAD1024
  • R5106
  • MN3004
  • MN3008
  • MN3010
  • MN3011
  • MN3204
  • MN3206
  • SAD4096
  • SAD512
  • TDA1022
  • V3207
  • V3205
  • BL3207
  • XVIVE3005
I also have these options for saturation on the input or output, or in the feedback loop:
  • Hard
  • Soft
  • Asym
  • Sym
  • Tube
  • Tape
  • Exponential
  • Cubic
  • OpAmp
  • OTA
  • JFET
  • MOSFET
  • DiodeBridge
  • GeDiode
  • Transformer
  • Wavefold

Seriously, I'm not aware of any actual delay (plugin or hardware) allowing you to really tame the peaks straight on the input already.
I'm sometimes using Logics Enveloper on a bus in front of a delay to get there, but it's really only working so-so-ishly, possibly because the release time of the Enveloper is too long, so it doesn't get retriggered when the input events are coming in faster. Still not too bad.
Also tried with a parallel path in the HX universe, but 100ms as an attack time for the Autoswell block is way too much already. I really wish I could just tame a mere handful of milliseconds.
The effect is something really noteworthy IMO, as even some non-time-synced delays all of a sudden don't get in your way much anymore.

Sounds great. I’d love to see the more advanced parameters on their own page with their own preset system, with the main focus of the GUI being on controls you can “perform”. That could possibly include LFO’s or modulation to any parameter

This is just the dev environment I'm in. The UI and plugin infrastructure is a whooooolllleeeee other ball game.
