With the announcement of the new Helix Stadium lineup, it seems inevitable that Line 6 will release a successor to the beloved HX Stomp. Let’s speculate on what features might trickle down to the HX Stomp successor (dare we call it the HX Bedroom™?) and discuss what improvements you’d love to see!
Speculation:
Touchscreen? Doubt it:
• The Helix Stadium’s touchscreen UI would be tough to scale down to the HX Stomp’s compact chassis without creating an entirely new interface. Line 6 will already be managing two UIs.
• They’ve retained the classic UI (with upgrades) alongside the touchscreen UI, suggesting they might stick with a similar interface, enhanced with an improved “joystick” and additional lower knobs.
Footprint:
• It’ll likely stay a 3 or 8 footswitch model for continuity.
• Expect a larger, possibly wider screen to support additional knobs/buttons and the enhanced classic UI.
Performance:
• More processing power for additional blocks (I would love at least 10) and expanded routing options.
Features:
• The “Flux” feature from the HX One will likely be included, along with the new Agoura modeling and a Proxy “player” for added versatility.
I/O:
• Upgraded I/O: USB-C, improved connectivity, and possibly Bluetooth/WiFi for wireless editing on mobile devices.
What features do you think will make it into the HX Stomp successor? What improvements are you hoping for? Share your thoughts!
