Let's Talk about Guitars You Wouldn't Normally Buy

Awesome haul!

Jazzmaster is fun. I got one earlier this year and really enjoyed it then honeymoon wore off and I forgot about it. I got a set of noiseless pickups I need to drop into it because I HATE NOISE. I think I may tune that one to D Standard actually, the brighter pickups seem ideal for drop tuning.

I would LOVE a Bass VI. Seems like a really cool bass for guitar players. I mean The Beatles to The Cure, to The Deftones, if you are a badass band with "The" in your name it's a must right?

PRS SE Hollowbody looks cool as well. I tried it multiple times locally and something's just off but it's probably the specific model.
Finally plugged in the Jazzmaster. It's different but cool. Is your still noisy with the pickup selector in the middle? This one cancels the noise. Also, when I switch to the rhythm tone it cancels the noise also. The middle position with the coil tapped on the bridge pickup is a great sound.

Mine is just always noisy. I swapped pickups and electronics and it's still noisy. I got a set of Brandonwound noiseless pickups but haven't installed them yet. I may end up getting a custom guard without the extra switching just to simplify.

I wish I had known those existed before I purchased my full size six string Ibanez bass guitar. Found out about those about a year ago, I think Gumtown has one.

Those have my interest as well! I’d probably go for one of those before the Bass VI, actually.

The vi is fun but I would rather have a low B if I could only have one bass.

I strung my 6 string bass so it would standard guitar tuning.

I was thinking that the Bass VI would be easier to play. One nice thing about playing the bass every now and then is that it keeps the finger stretched out and stronger, but no way I could play a gig with it these days.

I have a Bass VI. It's neat.... Kind of an oddball. No adjustable saddles or bridge make it
sometimes less than pleasant to play and a struggle with the intonation.

We know on a normal acoustic we can pick at different distances from the sound hole and bridge to get different sounds.

It shocks me how much of a difference it makes on the Hollowbody II. First is picked between the pickups and second is above the neck pickup.

Cool! I personally find that sort of thing pretty apparent on all guitars. :idk

Favorite thing about my Jazzmaster is that it's familiar sounding, yet still different. The bridge pickup does a credible Telecaster, the neck pickup does a credible Strat, and the rhythm circuit sounds kind of like a neck PAF. It's all in the same neighborhood without being exactly like any of them.

@DrewJD82 Speaking of the Bass VI...

I've (relatedly) always fancied the PRS SE 277 Semi-Hollow Baritone with soap bars. Never gotten around to buying one though.

It was very affordably priced at the time of its release 7 years ago.
