In theory this was exactly what I wanted: A small passive box that has 2 inputs and 1 output and a level control for each input.

This one is a total POS that sounds like garbage though. It loads down the signal so bad, it makes everything sound worse.

Know where I can find the same thing only higher quality that doesn’t kill tone? Is there possibly a way I could rewire this one to not suck?

EDIT: A Boss LS-2 or similar should also do the trick. Fwiw, take a look at the Joyo LS-2 knock-off, it's cheap and available. Quality is legit, afaik.

Yeah, I had an A/B box splitting to two separate paths and then using this to mix them back together.

I suppose I could also do what I want with something that had 2 loops and the ability to toggle between them

Yup, sounds like a line selector style loop switcher might be what you're after.

I love the LS-2, but be aware there's a buffer in there, and some folks don't like the sound. I get along with it pretty well, honestly. It opened up a completely new world for me:

FYI, the Boss LS-2 has 9V input and output jacks, so you can power something off it.

I would, if it weren't for a custom job loop switcher by JDM, with a built-in analog octave-up (w/ high cut) and phase toggle.

I built my main drive sound with the LS-2 and a delicate blend of two kinds of fuzz, running into a hairy amp.

None of my guys found a mixer they were happy with at instrument level. They all came with either tone suck or an EQ changing buffer that the effect of could not be dialed out. I have this problem with parallel loop mixers too.

I’m sure the Lehle is great, but it’s HUGE for my needs. The wetter is tempting to use an exp pedal to sweep between the two, but really all I need is a simple A/B path to toggle between and mix back together.

I think I’ll give the LS-2 a try, or maybe forgo the level controls and go with a JHS summing amp

I might end up in the same spot, but I want to give it a try and see if I find anything I can live with
