Posted this before - and I realize what I am running is heresy for a live rig around here, but for the last 4 - 6 months, I've put together and run a modular digital system - as is:-
-> Joyo RDB2 Pedal Board
-> MacBook Air M4
-> Tahoe OS
-> GigPerformer 5 Pro
-> 2 x Genome Instances for Pre and Post EFX
-> UAD Guitar Paradise [replacing Scuffham S-Gear for Amps]
-> Whole rig runs at 96k
-> Numerous other AU Plugins of choice
-> MOTU M2 for HiZ Guitar [Pic below with my old Focusrite Solo 4th Gen - now replaced with Motu M2]
-> Morningstar MC6 Pro + 2 x Auxiliary Midi FSW
-> Real world measured I/O latency with everything turned on is ~ 3.3ms ms
-> Racks / Presets switch instantly and seamlessly
-> Full spillover
-> The Mac M4 runs Gigperformer 5 at a steady %26, and total CPU use on the M4 is less than %8
->
Used it for numerous gigs and rehearsals - both of which are basically non-stop 3 or 4 x 45 min sets
-> Absolutely stable and glitch / pop / stutter free
-> Shut the lid between sets - lift the lid again and go
-> Joyo Board is compact and everything fits on it perfectly except for the Exp Pedal off to the side
-> All fits in my old Helix LT padded gig bag
->
See pic below of it on my desk below - shit and leads everywhere - its a pre-Motu M2 Pic.
Only issue I've had in its whole time is having to uninstall and reinstall the UAD Guitar Paradise AU Version [not VST3] - the AU version somehow (?) got corrupted in the initial install.
All the separate hardware and software is fully updatable and fully replaceable to anything I want .... the M4 will run huge numbers of multiple plugins and stupid numbers of Amp Sims to the point of being just ridiculous.
I just got sick and tired of being tied into "one" environment hoping that "one" system would have and do what I wanted.
Having now got this running and sounding so good, and being totally modular, I cant ever see myself going back to a L6 or Fractal a.i.o unit.
