Kemper Profiler MK 2

So the Kemper Profiler Player will now be able to Profile, while the Kemper Profiler MKII will only be able to Profile in MKI specs and will require a computer to Profile using the improved algorithm?

Gotcha Kemper. We hear you loud and clear. :wat

It’s clear as mud. I’m glad they’ve got a video showing the process coming later, for the product they’re selling now. Oh wait. They don’t. Not even a beta.

Player only plays profiles. It will play the higher rez profiles but, even hooked to a computer it lacks the I/O to perform profiles.

Glad THEY cleared that up for you! :grin

So the answer to question about why the DSP chips in the devices being the same only the CPU chip was upgraded is as I thought, they are doing a hybrid process and like TONEX and NAM the extra work is off loaded to an out board CPU.
That would be a good idea, but the CPU on the Mk2 processor board is a poor CPU for that purpose. It's intended to be used for things like controlling thermostats and pumps. It's far too slow for audio processing.

Which isn’t at all what’s been said.
forgive me if I misunderstand your point, but, first off I'm not a Kemper wonk, ithink they have a very questionable business style, but I've never seen anywhere that stated the Player would be anything but a PLAYER. Please show me what your talking about, because I thought I've been on top of what they put out in the public perview.
Peace!

Never said you were a wonk. It’s in the thread somewhere that it’s been confirmed the Player will profile with the update, WITH a computer though. No idea about the IO constraints.

@madmarcus1960 yup I reached out to support myself

Allegedly. In theory. Remains to be seen.
Agreed, remains to be seen.
Consider that Kemper is a very successful company, pioneering the profiling process and winning a big customer base because of it.
Why would they lie about what they are about to introduce?

Granted there is bound to be some hyperbole in the marketing, and individually most of us will find something that makes us say ‘I wish they did this instead of that’.

However, in spite of the small portion of the guitar playing public that enjoys predicting the worst so they can posture indignation, the most likely outcome will be far closer to what Kemper promised than the terrible outcome that has been predicted by the haters.

Kemper’s primary goal is success and they are smart enough to know subterfuge won’t get them that.

The current DSP is good enough to create the Kemper profiling as we know it and the effects and processing sound. Is it possible by increasing the onboard CPU, as they have now done, to enable the incorporation of an outboard CPU to add quality? Some kind of hybrid process that makes the Kemper results remarkably better than it was?

I don’t think they have done this knowing it’s really just some new effects blocks, better boot time and black paint. That would be a ridiculous thing to do. Might be fun for some people to say it’s what they have done but some people do and say all kinds of ridiculous stuff just to troll forums. It is how the fanbois fight, safe behind a keyboard in moms basement

I don’t think it would terribly off-brand considering they spent the last 14 years saying everything is perfect so why do anything new? And I’ll fight you about guitar gear in the street. 😂😂
