Kemper Profiler MK 2

Yeah I agree 20 seconds is a lot these days. But a marked improvement nonetheless. If Helix is about 15 seconds, that's in the range of "not going to bother anyone too much".

I just timed my Axe FX 3 and it was 25 seconds, so maybe 20 seconds is quite reasonable :bonk

Kemper is now the profiling equivalent of Boss.

All the people now saying accuracy doesn’t matter go play a gig, will suddenly revel in the fact the kemper is the most accurate and have that at the forefront of the conversation 🤣
Precisely! For all their blather about "accuracy isn't important, I just wanna have a good time when I'm making my degen pr0n for my Tik Tok page" absolute waffle nonsense.... if Kemper came out and said "yeah, we improved the accuracy by ten-fold" they'd all be jizzing and gloating about their choice of gear. You absolutely fucking know they would, because they did it for the first few years when Kemper was first launched; before the scales fell from people's eyes.

You see the same with Fractal users - like the JVM discussion... people telling Ed and I to just shut the fuck up, and then when Cliff takes a look and spots some errors and fixes them, these users are all nuthugging and sucking on his ass cheeks. It is sickening.

FWIW I want the update to be awesome, but the realist in me thinks otherwise. Happy to see it scrutinised up against NAM and the others, hopefully it does well
The marketing copy reads like guff. I want to know precisely what has been improved, if indeed anything has.

Just imagine for a very quick [possibly unlikely] moment that the MK2 process delivers better null tests and less aliasing than NAM .... and it does so more importantly over the fuller range of Amp Gain/EQ Controls ? There is now way the Universe could survive this .... not even Thanos could do anything :)

Looking through the new manual...did the Kemper already have Transpose and Double Tracking?

Until the Kemper makes more accurate Profiles and comes out with a redesign for the hardware it's not a Mk. II in my book.

They can put more effects, longer effects chain faster boot times, metal knobs, cosmetic sticker skins, etc. but until it Profiles on par or better than current tech and they put that in a redesigned Head, Rack and Floorboard this isn't a Mk. II

I really like the Kemper editor and workflow, keep all that, build a new device and make it the premier Profiler/Capture device on the market.

They state it has new Profiling tech that is more accurate and I'm sure that will be put to the test. It's a shame they didn't spend the money and release new innovate hardware to go along with the software updates.

This doesn't look like a Mk. II, it looks like a software update to the existing hardware.

9 hours ago the leaked copy was:
  • Precise analysis of over 100,000 frequency points: the most accurate speaker simulation in history
  • Dynamic Box Resonance Capture: The industry's longest and most complex impulse response technology is used to restore the real dynamics

But on the Kemper site it is:
  • More than 100,000 individual frequency points meticulously analyzed for the most precise amp recreation ever achieved.
  • Next-Level Speaker & Dynamically adjustable Cabinet Resonance – Capturing the true dynamics of your setup with the longest and most complex impulse responses in an amp capturing device.

That is a bit fishy.

Existing Player can create Profiles or can it just use the "new" Profiles? I hate to say it but after the paid unlocks for Player, I don't trust Kemper Marketing copy. WTF is this?

They specifically said there's new hardware in place that improves overall performance significantly and that there is new higher resolution profiling as well. I'm still digging through the manual but a lot of the improvements aren't supported by the old hardware.

Kind of like Axe FX 3 Mk 2...that was a processor upgrade that allowed for more capabilities.

$1348 for the Head
$1398 for the Rack
$1498 for the Stage

All available for sale on the Kemper site right now.

Maybe a new faster chip, so technically yes I guess.
