I don’t know that i would put an OD in front of the Joyo, it sounds like it already has that type of boost/tightness circuit in it already.

Yeah, the Rigel is definitely not lacking in available gain.

I’ve observed Donner/Joyo companies do small runs of niche items. I picked up a dual gate pedal about a year ago that honestly is as good as the Decimator G String, even saw Fluff do a video on it, and it has been out of production since about a month after I got it.

I picked up the Joyo American bass preamp pedal this morning for $39... sounds pretty killer in the vid where I discovered it. Should be here this afternoon, so I'll report back.

Used the American on my practice amp (Roland Bass Cube 30) and my new bass rig and while it sounded good, I didn't quite get where I wanted to go. Yesterday, I pulled it out of the mix and used the Rigel instead and >BOOM< waaaaay better sound for what I'm after. Not only did the Rigel sound killer with the Roland, it gave my new bass rig that "massive wall of sound" vibe.

After band practice I came home and set the American for return (Amazon) and tried to buy another Rigel, but they're still out of stock...
