And I’m out of town until Sunday night…

Dude I’ve got such high hopes for this one. It’s the amp I’ve wanted ever since I got back into guitar in 2015. They have just been too expensive and I could never find the right used one.

It’s literally been my dream amp since then. Queer I know with everything that’s out there but I feel pretty confident I can get this thing dialed in exactly the way I’ll want it.

Right there with you. My late-night Reverb "wish list" history is something to behold.

I’m in a “consolidate” and “simplify” my setup phase, yet have bought a new guitar, rack modeler, and groove-box in the last month. I’m trying to determine where a new 100w tube amp fits in here, without having to acknowledge I’m FULL OF SHIT.

You and the rest of us who do the same thing!

Finally got this MFer sorted! And now I'm going to bed...

Damn, I thought a recto was hard to dial in. This thing is kinda a bitch.

Landed on a Ruby in V1 and Mesa 12AX7-A (glorified JJs) in every other slot (still messing around with them but happy right now).

Got the bias sorted out at about 35-36 per tube, per side (was using the fan to cool down the power tubes in between swaps).

I know you guys are jealous over my test bench. It's also killer for a hot day at the beach. :rofl

@santiall what do you think about that bias for a 476 plate voltage?

More to come after I get some sleep. This thing is a different kind of animal.

I usually start at 35mA, not higher than 40mA.
My favorite input preamp tube have always been the Shuguang 12AX7, they can have a lot of gain but finding one with gain that is not too noisy or microphonic isn't easy. Then down the chain are less and less critical

Thank you. Couldn’t sleep and backed them all down to mid 34s after playing though it for about 20 mins and letting them cook a little. Sounds pretty incredible now.
