Is chorus making a comeback?

I don't think I've ever written such a stupid sentence before.

I think it is super cool how Chorus sounds one way with Tom Scholz, another
way with 1980s-era Robert Plant, and yet another way with 1990's Kurt Cobain/
Nirvana.

It seems to be. I loved the sound of chorus when I started playing but have very little tolerance for it now. That 80's chorused Rockman clean thing is back in style and I am not pleased.

The only chorus on distorted guitars I actually enjoy are Gilmour’s 80’s/90’s tones, early Zakk Wylde and Dean DeLeo’s early tones.

Love it on clean tones, though.

The nice thing about chorus is it all sounds the same. If you have one chorus pedal, there's really no need/desire/benefit to grab another.

Sorry for being too naive. Is this a pic of a rack unit or a plugin?

It's an Eventide plugin (the H910 plugin), but the concept is real-world. Using dual Harmonizers (one on the left channel, one on the right channel) with slight detune (few cents + one side, few cents - other side) is an old but very effective alternative to standard chorus. Use it on guitars, vocals, drums, etc you name it.

The H910 debuted in 1975 and was the world's first digital effect processor and has been used on countless albums.
