Ir pedals again

For shows lately with bands that aren’t on modelers, I am usually using sonicake IR pedals. They’re cheap and work great, don’t even have an LED to tell if they are on. It’s kind of a confidence killer and slows down troubleshooting. They’re a great price and have an xlr out but don’t have a ground lift. For some dinosaur amps, I end up with some line noise. A Morley /ebtech him eliminator clears the noise, but it would be nice not to need it.

What else are out there? I see a TC which has a display so I’ll know it ifs on, but it only has 1/4” out but maybe it’s ok and I have the him eliminator to turn it xlr

Two notes Cab m + or opus?

Personally I’d also check tonex One manual if you can run it with just an IR

Yes, you can have presets on the Tonex One with just an IR. I think this is a great possibility!

The Two notes Cab m+ could be an alternative as well.

The Mooer X2 Cab is solid. Takes up to 2048 IR’s and sounds great in stereo loaded with two separate IR’s and the adjustable latency.

Super wide stereo effect as a result that makes even mono gear sound great. I really love that feature. Low and high trim right on the control panel is icing on the cake.

It’s my favorite IR unit and priced well. The headphone amp seems robust too. I’m not a huge fan of Mooer but, for me at least, they knocked it out of the park on this one.

Its not 1000% clear in the manual, but it seems like its saying I can process the two sides totally independently, no idea what the latency control is for and the manual doesn't say

I love my CAB M+, seriously can't "feel" any latency there. The only first-world gripe is that it's mono, but we're a spoiled bunch these days. It's nice for headphone playing or supplying a desk-ready signal to FOH while using the dry thru with a power amp (and remain in control of stage volume).

When I want to play with headphones in stereo, Helix Floor or Native are where I go.

I recently had the Boss - IR-200 which I was using for just IR’s. I was mainly interested to see if longer IR’s and higher sample rates made a difference compared to the Fractal FM3.
There is slight difference but I ended up selling the Boss as the Fractal just sounded better going into my audio interface.

Realized that I likely described the Latency control on the Mooer Cab X2 poorly (like the manual apparently). Consider it like an adjustable “stereolyzer” that introduces a stereo effect on either a mono or stereo signal like a studio might use. It’s useful even with a stereo signal because even then it “broadens” the stereo perception on the entire signal (including parts that may be mono (like the dry portion for example).

I hope that helps clarify things because it’s extremely useful if that is something you are after and is quite noticeable if you want it to be.
I’ve heard similar sounds coming from double trackers like the TC Electronic Mimiq and Keeley 30ms pedals.

Which sonicake IR loader do you have? I think I have the most basic/cheap one, and there is no option for "on or off" its just always "on" (unless you have a slot selected that isn't loaded with an IR)
