Given my proclivity to load my Fenders with EVH-GB’s, I’m wondering if I should consider investing in four Creambacks or just keep it stock. I’d be interested in other’s opinions.

Hey! That doesn’t look like a Mesa. Where am I?

Very cool. There’s one on my local Craigslist but they want too much for it.

I'd keep it stock for a while, you may end up digging it that way. Although the G10 greenback is a great speaker, I've not tried the creambacks.

Congrats on the incoming amp.
Weren’t you recently talking about reducing the amount of gear you have or was that someone else?

That was me! Going to downsize on the pedals and modelers for sure. Going to stick with my Fractal and Hotone modelers and a few sweet pedals. Amps are a little different for me in my mind. I plan to use the Super Reverb as a home pedal platform. I have always loved the articulation of 10 inch drivers and am not a fan of “cone cry”. One of my favorite experiments was 3 2X10 Behringer combos stacked. It sounded great from all height angles and gave a great tone while the amp section and speakers were breathing easy. I’ve found that to be the best approach when preamp tone is solid. Plus, the price on this unit is remarkable. Hard to pass up.

Depends on if you like p10r’s or not. They seem to be a pretty polarizing speaker - you either love them or hate them

I’m flirting with this one also.
If I go for it:
- make the speakers “hijackable” so I can use it as a cab also
- add a poweramp input…so it can act as a powered speaker for a modeler.

What might the argument be like?

They’re kinda bright and chimey, some people hate them, others love them.

I think a lot of the hate is from experience playing brand new ones that haven’t had time to break in yet. I hear they take a long time to really wear in and start sounding their best.

The Super Reverb was a finicky beast for me. Some days I loved it, other days I battled with it. I never tried rolling speakers in mine so who knows, maybe some of what I didn’t like was those speakers

I like bright and chimey. Kind of the point with 10 inch speakers IMO. But I don’t hear that, Kinda stuck somewhere in between the bright switch and treble on 6+. I guess my ears are getting old.

You should get along with the Super in that case!
