Inbound… AGAIN! Lol. I may have a problem…

Dang, killer deal on that amp. I haven't played the current iteration but the original one was sick and the new one looks even better. Definitely an amp that flies under the radar.
Yeah love my DuoTone. Like a JCM800 type with fender cleans.

I have to assume the $4k+ price tag new with no way to try before you buy makes them scarce.

Nice score! Don't see them too often.

always been curious about these but never brave enough to pull the trigger on one. Curious it if has a distinctive character or sound, or if its a jack of all trades that does a bit of everything.
We shall see! Criminally low content out around this amp for sure.

Yah these amps are way more than I’ll ever need or imagine needing. It’s because I stay in a specific lane and don’t need much. I play my DSL, 5150’s, and really any 2 channel/voicing or more amp as a one channel. Like my Plexis or JMP 2203. Roll off for cleans. I’m only going as far as Hard rock saturation wise. So easy to do.

Still I’d make a go at one just see what’s up. Be fun. I’d prolly set each channel the same though, making it a multi one channel amp.:facepalm
Not gonna lie, same for me but I had to have it. I’ll still sound like me regardless.

Just want to mention the “elephant in the room”. A retube! That’s a lot of bottles bro.:crazy
Yep! lol. 6 power tubes and like 16 preamp tubes or some such fuckery

EDIT2: I didn't read the 1st post and thought JerEvil is Jarrod from Tone Wars.

It is you!
Love your show!

Edit: Gotta say, you made me very gassy over the years. 😆
Me owning a Peavey 6505 1992 Original was a big part thanks to you and Euge.
I may have a problem too... I'm surrounded by a ton of gear I NEED. :bag

lol! All good. Yeah me and Jarrod talk literally almost very day. Good guy. I know folks LOVE. His boosting of everything but he’s a good shit.

My goodness, that PT must be huge?!
Congrats.
Certainly not average size…

That's not too bad. Just a couple more power tubes than a usual 90/100W.

It's my understanding preamp tubes basically never need replacing, as long as you're not “tube rolling” or you have very bad luck and get a bad one… I've never replaced a preamp tube in my life.

I like the HK stuff I know a lot of people don't dig the shiny neon , but they were really the first guys doing that ,

I had only played the MK3 once in a store , I really liked the MK1 and MK2 but I though the new one was a bit different , especially the Heavy channel was just more like it was trying to hard to be a Recto .

I think the Changed the voicing up when Thomas Blug left as a designer , he had done the original . Duo tone . Puretone , MK2 and switchblade I believe basically if you want the sound of the early Triamp that's the BLug Mercury, basically Fender Clean . Plexi/ 800 and Soldano.

I honestly did not spend much time with the MK3 , you got and insane deal though as that thing was over 4K in Canada

Congrats, happy NAD, enjoy! :beer

I'm not familiar with that H&K, but I've always wanted to try the Switchblade.
Thanks man! I have the DuoTone and love it. Hopefully this gets here this week!

I’d really like a Warp X…

Yeah that’s what I’m saying. And I don’t tube roll…

Hell it’s still $4200 at Sweetwater. Yeah for the price of I like two of the channels it’s a win!

That's against his Triamp Mk1, obviously each channel on the Amp 1 dialed to sound like the Triamp so you would not be able to get all of these tones from the Amp 1 just by switching channels since it has a shared EQ.

I think of the Amp 1 as a two channel amp with a switchable overdrive voicing on the overdrive channel.

The Switchblade was kind of the start of the current 4 voicing platform it was 2 preamp tubes that had 4 gain stages and they paired it to an EL34 power amp
It was Clean /Crunch/lead /Ultra. It was also all MIDI and have delay, chorus , Flanger/ phaser / trem reverb

After that amp came the smaller tube meisters
And then the Grandmeister
Which was basically the Swichblade and effects but smaller package EL84

Thanks. I remember Alex Lifeson using the Switchblade.
