I Want a Headless

Is there something in particular that you don't like about HILS, other than that it's a cheaper guitar?
For me the hardware, the frets and the electronics are all deal breakers. You can fix the frets and electrics but it’s not worth it if you feel the need. I fully expect the hardware to fail down the line. On the plus side it’s definitely worth what it costs and as good as many more expensive instruments but I have issues with them too. If I paid retail to buy and get fixed the issues it’s not remotely cheap. Save your money and buy something that is fundamentally better it will work out cheaper in the long run because you will be happy with it as is and keep it long term. Also the Hills I put Ragnaroks in didn’t sound anything like as good as either my H/06 or Hydra. They have a piano like clarity that is just missing.

The guy has offered me money. I've he buys it I'm going to buy something not to dear in the short term, maybe a GOC, and then save for an Aristides.

I thinking about biting the bullet and buying a new one with the specs I want. Gonna ask if they'll fit a Sustainiac too.

How are the Hantug trems on those headless? Are the closer to a Floyd-Rose or a Strat?

Closer to a Floyd but not quite as extreme.

Yeah, I wouldn’t expect a $500 to sound like a $4000-$5000 guitar. It’s a cheap guitar, to see if headless is for someone.

I’m going to buy every color, before moving on to Harley Benton, Dave-style, instead of buying one great headless, just to annoy you. :rofl
IME some of the Harley Benton stuff really is good and a lot better than most other similarly priced things. The HB is probably my choice of budget headless. A bit lacking in imagination but mostly good.

The pickups need to go though and zero innovation. But for the money,
The 24 fret model;

My silly post did not have the intended effect!

Harley Benton’s can be made to play pretty well with a bit of work. I’ve seen quite a few at this point. I’m actually waiting for their revised version of their headless.

New Dullahan 2 looks like it'll be cool. German Peter Griffin is shown holding it here:

I want to get a cheaper headless first, because whilst I've seen and the shop's worked on quite a few headlesses of multiple varieties, I've never lived with one for any period of time. I wanna do that, before dumping $2000+ on one.

Yay they band sawed off the corner with the tone knob on "innovation ". On a serious note its probably quite good if the other was anything to go by. You are at the mercy of the QC odds though.

Hopefully they'll have them in the US warehouse, so it's easier to ship back if there's an issue.

Have to put this pic in the headless thread.

The only Kiesel I would buy is actually the Carvin Holdsworth model. The original version with Holdsworth specs but I missed the boat and they got expensive in this iteration.
