I pulled out the Axiom PAE-1.

I am very late to this thread... After a long wait (Casey was transitioning from PAE-1 to PAE-2), I got my PAE-2 in May, then for various reasons it has been sitting on my desk until last week. I tested a chain with my Marshall tube preamp (Plexivibe) into the Axiom PAE-2, in the loop of HX Stomp. Man, it sounds reeeeeeeeally good and can be tweaked to sound exactly as I like. Can't wait to try this as power amp emulation after the "send" of my Mesa Mark V 25. It's crazy that, unlike a reactive load, I can choose to set it as a Mesa power amp, or a Marshall power amp, or whatever type of power amp I like. I haven't tried yet, but in Helix I could also use it to mix and match preamps and power amps, which is not possible withoput the PAE-2. Very much recommended.

Ive been interested in these as well. One of these and some preamps plus a stomp could be a really cool setup.
