But I did it anyhow..

Close to 20 yrs ago I did two solo instrumental albums when I thought I could play a little.. I did both on an RG that I loved, but as usual being the dumbass I am at times I decided I needed to sell it to move on to the next shiny object that caught my eye and have regretted it ever since.. I've always scoured the used market from time to time to replace it for sentimental reasons. Never found a satisfactory replacement.. Little did I know Ibanez re released them.. So I pulled the trigger.. Basic black RG550.

From one of the albums way back when.... https://mixposure.com/jmo/audio/30315/zep-tepi-i-ii-iii

I had a 1989 original with a rosewood fretboard for like 15 years. I hated how it looked, the freakin' Darth Vader of guitars, but the basswood body was prone to dings so it didn't look nice and sleek either. I considered stripping and refinishing it several times but never got around to do it.

I don't like the Ibanez V-series humbuckers and the toothpick thin neck will definitely be a personal preference. My hands cramped on it because I was gripping it harder due to it being so thin. Ended up the opposite of "fast neck" advertising.

Replaced it with a green flametop Carvin C66 and I'm much happier with that guitar.

Hope you have a better experience with yours.

Hell yeah!!!! Congrats!!

You can’t beat a 90’s RG (even if it’s Genesis, it’s still a 90’s RG). I don’t get on quite as well with Wizard necks these days due to being so thin, but the Wizard III’s are basically the JEM neck and pop up on the audition sites all the time.

The first guitar I ever put my hands on was my uncle’s ‘90 RG570 and overall, 90’s MIJ Ibanez is my benchmark for quality/affordability.

That tune would make an awesome soundtrack...really enjoyed the music!
Thank You sir :beer

Yeah, That's been my issue with wizard necks the older I get but my old one just did things no other guitar has done since..
