I like my Pod Go WAY more at 360K Ohms Input Impedance than at 1MOhm

I'm so glad that I didn't send my Pod Go in to get 'fixed'. It honestly just sounds SO much better with the 'wrong' input impedance. I feel that otherwise, there are a lot of highs that I personally don't want.

I'm getting the 360K ohms figure based on Ben Craven's video -

May be different on my unit. But whatever the lower input impedance value is - it sounds much better overall than when I play with a buffered wireless unit.

Is there some loss of sparkle on something like a DR? Yes. But I feel that the good highs are still there - might bump the 'presence' knob a little. Anyhoo....just throwing that out there. I do have the authorization from L6 to get the issue fixed but last minute decided not to after I realized how much better it sounds just the way it is.

FYI, I play straight via a SS Power amp into speaker cabs. That's the context in which I say it sounds great. Going into "FRFR", I may feel different - unlikely though.

I always felt like HX pedals sound better when the input impedance is set lower. It helps get rid of some of the “stiff” feel I don’t like in the amp models

Usually had my Floor at 230kOhm as well. Unfortunately can't do so with the Stomp in my recent rig as it's all buffered left and right.

try running through a paper clip, it feels amazing. I think a lot of the sag feel of tube amp input is pickup loading from running through a bunch of material. modelers just run from audio jack through a few surface mount specs of rice then straight into digital. pickups see ching chong load

The first thing I do with any modeler is set it to 1mOhm. It’s all preference though, for sure.

So was the POD Go initially fixed at 360, and then they offered a retrofit to 1m?
An 'm' is 1.000.000.000x smaller than an 'M' - milli vs Mega

Gotcha. Well that would have pissed me off. :rofl Give me 1meg or give me death!

The difference is profound to me. I'm never getting rid of this Pod Go - that 360ohms is the absolute sweet spot in tone and feel. This is one amazing mistake!

If I need bright tones, I can always plug in a wireless unit.

Or a Boss pedal in front
