I Like Big Boosts and I Cannot Lie.

I tried a Caitlinbread Epoch Bias. Beautiful pedal and if you are looking for that EP-3 sound it probably has you covered and with the additional bias and high frequency knob it’s very adjustable to taste.

Unfortunately, part of that signature sound involves a “slight” high frequency roll-off even with the HF knob wide open, which is a shame because the Bias adds some cool body and shape. Aside from that, I’d be all over it. But I’ve worked too hard to tune my harmonica and high frequency content to be detailed and precise. I’m not willing to sacrifice that in the least. It’s going back. I have an EP-3 mode on my ZIO if I need it. ZIO is a sweet pedal I don’t hear talked about enough. Super handsome and highly functional analog front end polisher and boost.
I want to try it in front of t I’d a modeler soon.

Next up the Spaceman Harmonic Booster. It’s either going to be glorious or horrible I expect. We’ll see.

Ciao, Jason
Looking forward to hearing what you think of the Spaceman Saturn VI.

Does it live up to it’s name?
Ive got some good out of it. Still need to be more thorough. I had a bad PI tube in the Origin 50 I was using so it cut my tuning short. Its running fine now but family stuff has kept me busy.

Today was the first day i could let loose in the jam room for a week and a half. I had to hit the 2203x and 5150. Lol Hopefully tomorrow after some morning stuff I'll get back to the pedal. I did get some tone and feels from it. More to tweak though.

I keep thinking about buying another boost, but then I wonder if any of them will give me anything I can’t already get by using a GE-7?

I’m very curious about the Benson germanium boost. I’ve heard it does some nice things to the signal

I can say without a doubt that boosts can offer more tonal options. Whether they are useful or desirable to you isn’t something I can answer. But this has been an eye opener for me! Kind of like burning through speakers or pickups to find the ones that are your own personal sweet spot.

Boost lovers: AMIRITE?

Since I can sculpt the EQ pretty much however I want with the GE-7 it would have to be something that offers more than just a gain boost and some EQ. Something that has some other magic going on that it does to the signal
