I have a pickup shaped hole in my life, that needs filling

This is a GRG. I like it very much.



I only need 1 pickup in it and I can't find a 1 humbucker RG pickup in Europe. Google only sends me to Aliexpress, where I don't want to buy one. German Amazon or others: Nada. I asked Trashcontainer for a custom and they were very nice in their reply, but wanted 90ish Euro for it. I paid 150 for it used somwhere in the 2010s and atm can't justify a pickguard more than half of the initial price (I know, the EMG in it costs that, too.. ).

What could I do with that hole in the pickguard? Give me ideas! I just don't want to leave it like this.

I guess if you don't want another pickup or new pickguard, then maybe put some kind of backing between the hole and pickguard. Could be something fabric or paper that has a pattern. Get artsy with it.

Tried that, but most looks "cheap" to me. Okay, it's a cheap guitar... maybe if I find the right fabric for it?

Okay, now I want a rainbow of duct tapes.

PG is nono if it's no cheap one. Another EMG I wanted to do, but the neck pu hole is at another place than the og pg. Original pg had the neck pu right under the neck. This one has a shallow "bridge" between neck pu and neck. So there's a chunk of wood, that won't let me drop in the EMG. Also the whole thing is no bathtub and the battery has no space under the pg. Well, maybe I have to route a bathtub...
