The Halo is another killer delay that I got based on some input here…. So thanks for that. It’s on sale again so it’s a good time to consider.
I haven’t mastered it yet but it sounds great and has a lot of potential from what I can tell. Having presets in such a compact pedal is soooo nice. Eight! I don’t know it well enough to know how to categorize it well. I guess if I had to try real hard it’s somewhere along a clean tape with overtones of a 2290 with shades and hints of analog. No, really that’s all BS. But it does sound good.
I think this may be the only delay pedal that I've loved enough to buy two of them (unless you count the EHX Canyon and Grand Canyon) - first the full-featured original, then the simpler, more straightforward Core version.
I'm a big fan of delay pedals. I don't know if this is a suggestion thread, but the answer is "yes!"
I have the following:
Boss DD-7
Boss DD-8
Boss SDE-3
Boss RE-2
Boss SDE-3000D
Boss DD-500
Strymon El Capistan
Strymon Dig
I currently have all but the DD-7 and DD-8 on my various boards. One has the last four on it, and I turned on the dual delays of the DD-500 and SDE-3000D, the two Strymons, and the main delay I had setup on my Boss GT-1000 Core (mainly for gits and shiggles). It was hysterical, yet awesome!

While this thread is active I want to mention one other delay that I think is pretty stellar. And it might cause some consternation so please visit @timbuck3 and spend an hour or so in the hotub sipping a !margarita if it triggers you.
The UAFX Orion sounds really, really good. Mono, no midi, etc. But if you can catch one at $99… it’s a banger. Switchable EP-3 preamp too.
