IME theyre okay. the ones ive played have that 'cheap 30s and 40s' thing going on on purpose. they sound like they look- like cheap old guitars. thats a thing if youre shooting for americana, but theyre not great guitars by any stretch in the grander scheme of things- but if youre shooting for thats sound... they do it well without having to sort through and find a real one and have it repaired to play well.
ive played a coupla 12 fretters that were fun, but they played pretty heavy for the type, and would definitely recommend eastmans over them if youre looking to save a few bucks.
