How do you get into your creative mind and what is your writing process?

I have been experiencing a similar thing. I have finally figured out that I have been bored with what I was trying to do. It wasn't exciting. I have started into some new things and finding some challenges, which is a good thing. I get off of work an hour before my wife does. I have been heading straight home and dropping all of my stuff off then firing up the computer and playing until she gets home. I usually get in an hour to an hour and a half each day now. If I am really digging into something I will stick with it longer. This has been helping me find some excitement. I am setting here spending time playing today as I took a couple of days off of work to just do whatever I feel like doing. I have been playing all morning, to the point of all four of my fretting fingers being sore enough that I need to stop. :)

I am working on some things that I am probably going to put out for the world to see and hear. That is my goal at least. I think once I get this going it will be easier. I have never really been one to like seeing and hearing recordings of myself but I am trying to change that.
Perfect timing! The Do Something Challenge Season X starts on Sunday October 12!! I hope we get to hear some pieces from you Mr. JasonE ;~))

Talk about timing! I'm working up something new, and now I have an occasion to release it: A Hard Day's Blight.

It's the follow up to my first record, Meet The Dweeble.

All the excitement and energy of a live performance will be there. The bad news is, there won't be tumultuous applause from a live audience. Because my mom died 3 years ago. :rofl

Not sure if this is guitar riff or lyrics related topic.
But when it comes to writting lyrics, messy life helps. :D
My life is absolute d0g5h1t, but at least my lyrics are good thanks to that. :D
It wasn't about just one of them. It was an all encompassing question. I have had some things happen in life this year, both good and bad, that have my lyric writing at least moving forward a little bit. I have had some issues with the music side of it. I hate everything I have come up with. I came across a piece that I have been working on. It isn't really complicated but it is melodic and has some interesting timing to it. I got the parts worked out but had some issues getting the timing down. I know that the issue is the piece is new to me. I have been listening to it occasionally to get it in my head so I can just follow what is in there. I am almost there but I burned the tip of my index finger on my fretting hand and that has taken me out of playing for a little bit. I am hoping that gets good enough to play soon so I can record the piece.
