Hotone Ampero II Stomp - Review

Check your output levels.

When I had the Ampero 2 Stomp, I did not find that turning cabs off had this sort of effect. Because cab sim -> guitar cab sounds like you have a blanket on, maybe this is what you perceive as "aggressive"? Any clipping would likely be caused by too high levels somewhere in the signal chain.
The output level is the same whether I use a cab sim or not. Would be very unpractical to have to change the output level. The tone has also too much treble when I go out on the GPA100 without cab sim. Actually, Snaptone + Cab IR in the GPA100/PPC212 sounds more like the real stuff than Snaptone without Cab IR in the GPA100, which makes no sense. I'll try reducing output level when the output is the GPA100.

You will need to dial the amp sim to whatever output system you are using. If you dialed those sounds with e.g headphones then it's not likely to translate well to a real cab.

Check that you don't have global EQ enabled too.

No global EQ. I never used headphones with the A2S, either it goes on my FRFR cab, or in the GPA100+PPC212.

Something very stupid came to my mind : since the NAM profiles usually contain the power amp, it means that, with the GPA100, signal goes through 2 power amp. Isn't that right ?

That's normal for modelers. The real poweramp used to amplifiy things will have an effect on the sound and feel.

Is the remedy only using NAM profile of preamp ?
No, it's dialing your gear to sound the way you prefer through whatever amplification you are using at the volume you are playing at.

If I connect my real tube amp into my 4x10 with GBs or my 2x12 with V30s I have to dial it a different way to get the sound I want. Same deal with the modeler.
