That's not even funny.

I came home for leave while in the military only to find my mother moved my entire record collection to the attic. The two biggest concerns were limited release: Scorpions Lonesome Crow picture disc and a translucent red vinyl release of Grace under pressure. Entirely mangled.

It's not funny, but it is also absolutely why I gave up on vinyl. it's more work than owning fragile all-solid-wood acoustic instruments in terms of keeping them in good working order. And the difference between owning/spinning vinyl vs. just listening to the same stuff via digital format...the benefit just started being way less than the headache such that when I started having a chat with a friend and he mentioned wanting to get into vinyl - and I knew he had the space and desire to really do it, I just offered him up my whole collection.

I would've been about 8 at the time I bought Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, and I would take my little record player outside and listen to records while I built roads and played with my Matchbox cars. Good times. sigh

Anyway, I'm listening to the 2nd disc, and I hear it start to waver. So I run over to find the sun had started to warp the record!! AAAHHH! I guess I flattened it back out enough by putting every record I owned at the time on top of it, because it ended up playing correctly.

But the needle would still move up and down as it tracked over the warps!
