Help find the Back to the Future ES-345

It was probably stolen from prop storage shortly after filming. Whoever has it either isn’t likely to come forward as the thief or has no idea the guitar they own was from the movie. I don’t see this as much more than a publicity stunt by Gibson’s top conmen.

Probably. The 40th anniversary of the original movie is this year, and I would imagine there’s going to be quite a bit of attention around it. Gibson just wants their piece of the publicity.

For some reason, this made me think of Kurt Russell unknowingly smashing the real 145 yo Martin acoustic instead of a prop guitar in The Hateful Eight.

Has anyone checked Huey's place?

I do this for a living. You will be up against fake provenance. And you are going to need good pictures from the film.

This spec is pretty common and the potential sale value will get all the usual charlatans involved.🤣

You are assuming Gibson actually cares if they get the exact right one. For publicity stunt purposes, a good fake is just as good as the real deal.
