Helix Stadium Desktop and AxeFx IV Desktop

Correct. That's why POD HD was the last tabletop modeler we've made (14 years ago!). We didn't even bother with an X version when POD HD500X and POD ProX dropped years later.
I will say that the HX Stomp works pretty well as a tabletop modeler. That where mine spends most of its time these days. If there is ever a Stadium in the pedal board form factor I could see it working just as well.

You’re basically suggesting an approach similar to synth modules, which I can see the benefit of, but my guess is the number of customers that would buy that form factor is even smaller than the rack users.

A modeler is always going to involve menus and pages and views, no matter how big the screen or how many knobs. I tooooootally get the preference for working with hardware over “sitting in front of a computer”, but with a full-fat modeler the option is more just “sit in front of this computer, or that specialized computer.”

Also -- are we not assuming the proprietary ports are going to support some sort of footswitch connector so that the stadium floor could be a stadium desk with the extra footswitch thing on the floor? I mean, with something as big as the stadium floor, you're not shrinking it THAT much if all you wanna do is pull the foot switches off the front.

What about - Stadium Backpack?! No, I don’t mean the backpack to carry the Stadium in. I mean a backpack unit with straps to carry on your back, and joysticks that protrude from the sides to control, like a Jetpack for tone!

The form factor I’m suggesting would give you the best of both worlds. 1-2 rack spaces mounted on a slide out shelf, but a big touchscreen on top for when you need it.
That's basically what I do now with the VP4 racked :D

I'd rather a modernized G-Force with updated AD/DA converters, or a 1U Fractal effects processor. But I also know I'm in a very small minority on this.

I think the Quad Cortex absolutely nailed the perfect form factor. 11 footswitches that are also dials, a big knob, and a touch screen, in a device about a foot wide. Perfection.
It’s a very seamless editing process between the touchscreen and footswitch dials - sometimes the touchscreen makes sense, sometimes it doesn’t

Counterpoint:
- Switches are too close together
- No scribble strips
- Knobs that you both use your hands to turn and you step on with your shoes is revolting :giggle:

I think the Helix Stadium will be the best size to feature to usability ratio.

@Desertdweller the QC is indeed a cool form factor, but I seriously detest that style of power supply. I’m more than happy to have a little bigger of a size, in order to have better foot switch spacing and a proper IEC cabled power supply.

So basically a BT tablet editor.

Which is all that the AxeFX + FC12 combo is missing.

Why not just get a console desk with an angled rack mount like Cooper Carter has?

At one point in time, I had my AxeFX like that. Even tried moving it closer to me to encourage me to use it on the device more.

Even then I’d end up still just resorting to Axe Edit and the cables and routing etc all became a bit annoying for me. I’ve since racked it off out to the side and accepted it’s Axe Edit all the way and much prefer it like that.
