Headfirst Alta P1

This feels like a super cool product! Sounds killer and very interesting to see the Two Notes thing integrated into it. Much more flexible than the usual Boutique Amps Distribution/Synergy digital back-end. It's on pre-oredr as of now so no clue about pricing but colour me interested!

EDIT: skimmed through the video, and apparently this was designed in consultation with Jim Root of Slipknot, although the sounds are mostly from the 100 Watt Alta.

I wish Jason, @Burger, still stopped by here. When he first started to come here some here thought he was just coming here to shill products, and he said Fuck It.

Maybe @DrewJD82 can get him to come back and ask everyone to be nice:rofl

Oh man. Love me some rack preamps. This one isn't quite the tone I typically dial in, but it's nice to see someone making rack gear again.

If there is a trend in this direction from other builders, my bank account is in trouble...

I auto joined the waitlist. Checklist completed.

And a good day to you sir!

Tbh, I really like this move from Jason. Not a lot of classic/hot-rod Marshall-y preamps around these days in that form factor. As mentioned previously, going with Two Notes was a great choice, too. Not too hot on their poweramp emulations, but I haven't heard that in a tube (pre)amp context, so what do I know! Can't wait for the price reveal (because I think it might be a bit prohibitively high for my taste) so that i can justify not burning a massive hole in my wallet right now.

That’s my thought. Three channel, hot-rodded Marshall in a 1U enclosure, let’s do this. But, I will completely bypass all of the Two Notes backend. Id love it if there was a version without it, but I get why he included it.

Curious what the pricing will be. There will be a premium due to the size of his operation, but I’m hoping it’s not much more than the cost of a couple Synergy modules.

Anything sub-1000USD is a big win, but I agree, there WILL be a down-under premium+Jason's one-man operation premium.

Looks cool, and will almost certainly sound great in the flesh.

No idea on the price... but if you're on a budget my advice is don't look to small operations making low quantities of high-quality gear they've developed from scratch. Myasnikov is an exception I guess.

First bit of email comms on it, if anyone else is interested:

1) When will it be available for purchase?
We are aiming for a release date, in partnership with Two-Notes, of early December. We plan to be open for pre-orders prior to this.

2) What's the price?
This will be announced once we open for pre-orders. Every unit will be completed and tested personally by me, these are not being outsourced to some factory somewhere, they will all be built and assembled here in my workshop.
Price wise you can expect it to sit in somewhere with existing rack preamp offerings in this space.

3) Will you do a version without the Two-Notes Torpedo Embedded capability?
No.

4) How many 12AX7s does it have?
Three.

5) Will it be available worldwide?
Yes!

6) Does it have a headphone output?
Yes. There is a 1/4" TRS headphone jack on the front panel for stereo output.

5) What kind of ins, outs and connectivity does it have?
- Rear guitar input. Front input overrides the rear.
- Buffered 1/4" all analog direct out (pre Torpedo Embedded)
- 1/4" pre Torpedo fx loop, and stereo post loop supporting a number of connection, cab sim and fx scenarios
- USB & Bluetooth support for connecting the Torpedo Remote software to the Alta P1
- Balanced XLR stereo outs

6) Will there be a Two-Notes DynIR cab pack?
Yes. 5 of my 4x12 cabs will be included with the preamp but also available separately as a pack from the Two-Notes website.

Hey @Burger congrats on the release!
I was wondering if the USB feature means I can use it to stream audio to jam with my computer audio and potentially record via USB. Or is the USB intended only to interface with the Two Notes stuff?
